How do I post an ad?

  1. Click on the “+POST AN AD” icon in the top right corner of the site.
  2. Create your free account with “Sign up for an account.“
  3. Complete your profile.
  4. Click again on the “+POST AN AD” icon in the top right corner of the site.
  5. Fill in Title in the “What are you offering?”
  6. Choose category and subcategory.
  7. Set your price type.
  8. Set your price.
  9. Select your currency.
  10. Upload up to 12 photos. (Pro-tip: the more photos you upload the faster you’ll sell.)
  11. Add the Product description and details.
  12. Enter the tags.
  13. Select the type of your ad.
  14. Select the item condition.
  15. Select the item warranty.
  16. Enter the item reference link.
  17. Enter your name, phone number, country, and location.
  18. Check your user details to ensure you are posting from your desired account.
  19. Submit your Ad.

Why my ad was rejected?

To ensure a good user experience on our website for both Buyer & Sellers, the following could be some causes why your ad did not go active.

 

Ban Reason: Forbidden Products

OLD BOOK CENTER does not allow Items or Service which break the Law and OLD BOOK CENTER policies. Sellers need to comply with items considered right or valid for sale in OLD BOOK CENTER.

Ban Reason: Duplicate

Posting duplicate ads stand not cool and a definite no-go on OLD BOOK CENTER. If you post various items or even in multiple locations, your ads will be removed and could lead to restricted access.

Ban Reason: Invalid image

Selfies and images that have no apparent relation or affinity to the ad will be removed. Images downloaded from the internet (stock images) are not allowed at all.

Ban Reason: Invalid price

To ensure an excellent experience for both Buyers & Sellers on OLD BOOK CENTER, we only allow ads with a realistic/reasonable value for the item being sold. Putting a fair price for your item helps the buyer discover your item and contact you to make a deal.

Ban Reason: Bad title

If an ad posted on OLD BOOK CENTER has incomplete or hazy text in the title, we mark it as ‘Bad Title‘ and remove it from our website OLD BOOK CENTER. Having an incomplete or vague title makes it impossible for buyers to find your ad and makes it less likely for you to sell your product.

Ban Reason: Bad description 

To ensure buyers’ and sellers’ quality of experience on OLD BOOK CENTER, we do not allow ads with inaccurate descriptions. To deliver this superior experience, we need to make sure all ads follow our rules on writing a description.

Ban Reason: Multiple products

We do not allow an ad that contains more than 1 item or service being sold by our policy. All ads that mention multiple items are removed as forbidden. 

Ban Reason: Product change

To keep content fresh and relevant for buyers, changing an item or service after the ad is published is not allowed. You can post a new ad for the new ones. We’ve made it super fast and easy.

Ban Reason: Email/Links/Phone numbers

We do not allow URLs or unverified numbers in the title of your ad. However, you may add a URL in your ad’s description as long as it’s a link to additional information or to a page with more pictures. We do not allow links that are designed solely to redirect traffic to another website or unverified numbers to increase buyers’ trust.
